Subject: Ex DMIR SDM #809 Leads Coal Train Eastbound

Notes: #809 and two other J units had just set out empties at Eola and then came 'light power' up to West Chicago to take a UP coal train down to the Will County plant. The J units would be needed on the Romeoville Branch due to having the environmental equipment necessary to operate on the branch. The UP power is along for the ride to Joliet, which is the way it should be.

Subject: Ex DMIR SDM #811 Leads a Will County Coal Train
Location: West Chicago, IL

Notes: #811 and two other ex DMIR units have coupled onto the Will County coal off the UP at West Chicago, and are just coming up the interchange to go Eastbound on the J main to Joliet. Once at Joliet, the UP power will be taken off, and the J power will come around to the West end of the train and take it up the Romeoville Branch to the plant.

Notes: #672 and GP38-2 #703 are pictured on the isthmus that runs across Heidecke Lake to Collins power station. Empty coal cars that had been in storage there were to be picked up and brought up the Illinois River Line.
